As far as underground hip hop that is known by the masses. I’m talking that underground hip hop that transcends the underground there could be no doper combination than J.Dilla, Nas & Madlib. Here you have the West coast providing a stellar soundscape by way of Madlib. That soundscape gets annihilated in the best sense of the word by the east coast finest (Nas) and the Midwest hero (J.Dilla). What’s dopest to me about this is that Dilla (who is primarily known for producing) lyrically holds his own with Nas on this track. The world should be thankful that Dilla left so much behind after his death and we continue to be inspired by his work.
R.I.P to Dilla
