When it comes to this producer/rapper shit Diamond D is one of the first and best to do it. As a founding member of the D.I.T.C Crew (Digging In The Crates) Diamond established himself as an important part of eastcoast hip hop in the early 90s. He is often forgotten when talking about top New York hip hop artist but he has remained on the scene since his debut album “Stunts, Blunts and Hip Hop” dropped in 1992 he has produced hits for some of the best hip hop artist in the game and has done it for many years. Fast-forward to 2014 and the world sees Diamond release the Diam Piece independently to little promotion or fanfare but the album is dope and at the time of writing this piece (Oct 2015) he is still releasing singles off the album to much praise from his followers. No matter what is “hot” Diamond sticks to his guns and jams while doing it, each track is like a stroll through the Bronx which is where he is from.
“Jose Feliciano” is the latest release off the project and in my opinion is one of the doper cuts on the album. The synth and bassline are crazy on this one, you gotta peep it.
