Having worked with numerous artists including The Roots, De La Soul, Common, and N.E.R.D, Portland born Rich Hunter is no stranger to the music industry. At age 11, he began attending music camps where he honed his singing, producing, and rapping skills. Years later, at the age of 18, Rich adopted the name Risky Star and released his first album. Risky explains that he fell in love with music, Hip Hop specifically, at a young age, and states, “The powerful Boom Bap with a fresh style sold me and I’ve been in love ever since”.
With laidback summery raps, and soulful smooth vocals, Risky has released two albums titled “Mind of a Musician” and “Cool Breeze Vol 1.”, which are both available on iTunes. Risky Star’s experience in the music industry has earned him the position of Portland’s Trust No One Records signee and house mentor. His latest EP, which will surely have his signature summery, laidback style.
